I guess my search engine adding is finally paying off. Dan swears that's how he found me. Whee! So anyhow, here's what he wrote me:
I've been gone from the MD fair for the past two years. Long enough for my accent to fade and my pouch to be put away somewhere it doesn't immediatley come to hand.
I started as a patron back in 1982? or 83?, in the pre-Crownsville days, out at Merriweather Post. A bunch of friends convinced me to go with them to "the fair". I went in jeans and T-shirt for the 1st and last time.
My first sight was Alice (not as the fishmonger, but as the Pistoleer, heavy on the leer). She took a kiss at pistol point! I was hooked.
I was a regular patron until the first year at Crownsville. Started dating a lovely lass by the name of Stacey at K. Dopita Studios. Almost immediately became a hawker of figurines and goblets.
Pat Parker's marquetry/inlay fascinated me and I became a friend/apprentice/hawker for Arcane Art (Highland Woods). Met and dated a young lady for part of a season. Found her again at fair 4 years later. Incidentally, there are few things in life less comfortable than being in a 15 ft square area with 4 women that you are either dating or have dated in the past. The only thing more disconcerting is to have them all walk off together arm in arm leaving wicked laughter in their wake.
I married her the following year. She too is a Ren fanatic. We hope to come up from southwest Virginia to visit this year. It is about a 6 hour drive.
I miss Revel Grove and its inhabitants, a more twisted lot I have never since met the like.
